Choirs have been some amazing moments for reflection during a service. Whatever age, be it the singing in a School’s Christmas Concert, or a Choir in front of the Church voices. This November we at Mulhurst are contacting our member Churches, Local Choirs, and singers to gather a symphony of singers together to discuss and practice proper vocal warm ups, voice scales and together creating solo, and group pieces they can take home to their classes, churches and families. This kind of work takes much more preparation than one weekend, but our time together will be to give those present the tools to perform, and share their gift of song with those back home. Our program director Jacob Rempel will be bringing recording tools, and music editing software to also record music for the weekend, for those who wish to go home with audiofiles, demo reels or even just something to remember the weekend by.
Improv at Mully
November 30 – December 2
$120 to share a cabin, $140 for a room in Eden Lodge
Have you ever been caught in a situation unsure what to do? Have you ever had someone strike a spontaneous conversation in public and you haven’t a clue what to say? Do you love making up stories on the spot? Well, this is the retreat for you. Improvisational Theatre is a world wide phenomenon spanning back to the performance of Comedia Del Arte. It is a time where performers can create an entire performance based on audience participation and their own imaginations. This weekend we aim to give workshops based on differing forms of improvisation such as Clown, Longform, Shortform, Theatre Sports and more. And for our finale we will have a pay what you can donation show for all workshop leaders, attendees and performers to show their stuff at Mulhurst! Stay tuned to hear of the guest artists and groups that will come to lead workshops and participate in our space!
