Your Camp Donations Make Our Ministry Possible

The ministry at Mulhurst Camp in Edmonton, AB, brings the joy of the outdoors to children, youth, and adults taking a break from the stress of daily life. Your generosity is what keeps our ministry sustained from year to year, so we hope you’ll consider supporting the work we do by donating in one of several ways we make available. We issue charitable receipts for your donations. You can choose to donate to a general fund or support a specific area of our camp that you feel led to donate toward.

Areas That Need Your Support

  • Kids to Camp: Donate to camp sponsorship with our “Kids to Camp” program: Many children wouldn’t be able to attend our camp without the financial support of kind donors each year. Funds received by donation through our “Kids to Camp” sponsorship are dispersed on a per need basis from families who apply directly through the program director. Please donate to allow the ministry of Mulhurst Camp to assist those who cannot afford registration fees
  • Memorial Fund: Honor the lives of family and friends who passed by donating to the camp in their name and memory
  • Program/General Budget: We always need funds to support the purchase of safe new sports equipment, craft supplies, T-shirts for staff and campers, and of course replacements for worn out items throughout the camp. While we always reuse and recycle what we can to respect our outdoor environment, your donations are gladly accepted to ensure our property is a safe and welcoming place for all. The budget also covers salaries for paid staff.
  • Capital Projects: Along with our major project, the Main Lodge (see below), we are focusing on completing –
    – Eden Lodge: Although the cost and delivery of the 49-bedroom unit was covered by major donors, the deck, ramp, utility hookups and landscaping is still to be done.
    – Director’s Den (formerly Cooks Cabin): cost of relocation and utility hookups
    – Shower House: New facility construction and hookups

Ways to Give

You can prayerfully consider mailing a donation, sending a donation online, or another legacy option to help us continue hosting camps.

  • Credit card: Use your VISA or MasterCard by calling the office at (780) 389-4355 or use the Canada Helps link
  • Memorials: Memorial packets to honour family and friends are available for easy donating by contacting the office
  • Securities: Perhaps a better way for some donors to give is to donate securities such as stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. Mulhurst Camp has established a brokerage account that can receive securities and issue a charitable receipt. Federal incentives introduced in early 2006 have made it very attractive to donate securities that have appreciated in value. Canadians are not taxed on the capital gain when they donate securities to a charity.
  • Gifts in kind: Receipts are available for the fair market value of larger gifts. A purchase receipt or an evaluation of the item is necessary to issue a charitable receipt.
  • Planned Giving, leaving a legacy: A legacy makes us think of our lives and asks the question, “What is my purpose in life?” Inspire future generations with a legacy gift. Including Mulhurst Camp in your will can transform lives and is a wonderful way to support and sustain this ministry.

Get Involved in Our Capital Fundraising Campaign

The excitement is building! Thanks to the generosity of many donors, Mulhurst Camp is thrilled to have received approximately $760,000 in donations and pledges for the renovation and expansion of the lodge. With these funds we were able to complete Phase 1, an insulated new roof on the existing lodge and the temporary fix to the kitchen. The second phase, extension of the dining hall and deck is complete. The third and final stage includes kitchen, handicap washrooms etc needs to be funded and built at approximately $750,000.
